A Hopefull New Year!

Hopefull art by the lovely Jen Lemen of SoulSister Designs

I wish I could say I found my magic in the busyness of this holiday season, but the truth is I didn't. I simply didn't this year.  That's not to say that we didn't have a lovely Christmas or that we didn't have a wonderful time away with family, we did...especially the children! It just didn't really feel like Christmas to me.
Since returning home a few days ago, I've spent time quietly writing in my journal, making a list of things that were important to me that I didn't do this holiday. I have made a special note of them and I hope it helps when I have the opportunity to do things differently next year. Ahhhhhhhh, the grace of a new year. ;-) If Christmas is the pinnacle of disorganization for me, New Year's Eve is perhaps the most magical evening of all.  To me it seems the gateway to another year waiting to be created...and I am happy for the chance to play my part...anxious to see how it will all unfold. As this year draws to a close, I'm realizing that for all the things I didn't get quite right, I'm content enough with all the things I did.
I have learned much about myself this year.
I have learned much about friendship and community.
I have learned much from all of you, from visiting your spaces and from your visits to mine.
When I began writing here back in June, I could not have anticipated the support I would find, the friendships I would forge, the love I would feel. On this New Year's Eve, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you for your presence in my life. I can honestly say I have never believed more in my ability to create the life I want. I have never stood on the cusp of a new year so full of hope...ready to welcome magic and possibility with arms wide open...ready to embrace this one wild and precious life.
Sending you love and blessings for a Hopefull 2008!
